November was about Remembrance in school. We held a themed Remembrance Week where the children of all ages learned about the meaning of Remembrance Day and our relatives who fought in the World Wars. We created a Remembrance Gallery in the hall with photos of our community members from the past who served during WW1 and 2. Lots of inspirational and brave people, who the children loved learning more about. We held our own 2 minute silence on the playground and were joined by Mr Stalker (Mrs Wiedman’s Dad) from the Salvation Army who played ‘The Last Post’ on his cornet, whilst we thought about soldiers who fought in the past and those who are still fighting now. Ash Class had worked with our special visitor, Mrs Pattinson- Grandma to some of our lovely children- to each make a poppy pom pom. These were combined and attached to make a large poppy wreath that looked absolutely beautiful!
