Next week in school, we will be celebrating National Poetry Day on Thursday 7th October. As part of our learning, we are focussing on enjoying poetry and learning poems by heart to perform. Each class will learn and perform a poem together to be shared via video with the other classes in school, and on our school website (see link below to 'School Videos')

We are also asking pupils to join in with our ‘Poetry Slam’ event!

We are asking all pupils to learn and practise a poem at home, from our age-appropriate shortlists, listed below for each of our  classes.

Children can perform these in school, to be videoed and shared in school. Finalists chosen on Wednesday 6th October in time for voting at our whole school poetry slam on Thursday 7th October.

Prizes will be awarded to the winners!

Watch out for our staff entries on our school website!

Many Thanks
